Miss C’s Boudoir Experience | Edmonton Boudoir Photography

let’s talk bridal boudoir

Why do a bridal boudoir photography session in Edmonton Alberta? What’s the point? Will my partner even appreciate it?

Well here’s the thing, a bridal boudoir session isn’t JUST for your partner, in fact, having a physical gift to give them on the wedding day is just an added bonus but the whole boudoir experience is actually for YOU!

It’s a time to celebrate you, as you are, right now, before diving into this huge new incredible chapter of your life. It’s a time for you to have a calm, relaxing self care day in my Edmonton boudoir photography studio while you’re in the midst of planning one of the most magical days of your life. It’s for you to remember that you are so powerful, so beautiful and so deserving of all incredible things that are coming your way. Not to mention it gets you nice and comfortable in front of a camera before you’re in front of one all day on your wedding day.

This babe is getting married on a boat in GREECE and I was absolutely gushing over what it would be like to photograph that gorgeous wedding while we were chatting before her Edmonton boudoir photography session. She wanted something special to surprise her future hubby with on the wedding morning and I think we hit the nail on the head with these!

Come prepared with your wedding veil and wedding shoes or just take advantage of all the white bridal pieces of lingerie in our Edmonton boudoir client closet, plus during any bridal boudoir photography session we always take a moment to focus on the engagement ring of coarse!

How / where did you hear about Tay's Photo's and Beauty?

Instagram

Why did you book a boudoir session?

I booked a boudoir session because I wanted to surprise my fiancé with some spicy photos on our wedding day.

What drew you to my work specifically?

Diverse women and body types. Promoting inclusivity. Venue/Location. The aesthetic of Taylor’s instagram and portfolio was the vibe I was going for.

How did you feel leading up to / before the session?

I felt nervous since it was my first boudoir shoot but Taylor gave clear instructions in her prep guide regarding hydration, what to do/what not to do, style guide, etc. Tons of great and useful information. It was clear what you could expect and her expectations as well.

What are some feelings you felt at the beginning, middle and end of your session?

I felt a bit nervous but excited at first. I can get shy getting my photos taken let alone being half naked. It can be a bit nerve racking but it helped knowing the makeup artist, Sheena Rae Beauty and also being able to have casual and relatable conversations with both Taylor and Sheena so I felt more relaxed while I got my hair and makeup done. At first I felt myself not being able to relax and I had to be reminded to breathe LOL but as we went on with more poses I felt more relaxed and comfortable. I think I was overthinking it a little at first. At the end of the session, I was honestly so excited to see the results and gallery. I was really looking forward to seeing it because I had a lot of fun by the end of the session.

What were some feelings you had when viewing your final images or products?

Honestly, I had an out of body experience. It felt crazy that I was looking at myself because I was in shock that I looked that good. There were times where I thought I was in an awkward position at the time the photo was taken but when I saw how the photos turned out, I was pleasantly surprised.

If you could pick one word to describe your entire boudoir experience, what would it be?

Exhilarating

What would you say to friends or family that have thought about doing a boudoir session?

I would definitely recommend it. It is an empowering experience and self-love activity that builds your confidence so why wouldn’t you want to? I would consider myself insecure but it was by far one of the best decisions I’ve made for myself. Although it started as an impulsive decision/gift for my fiancé, I also knew it would be a gift for myself so I don’t regret doing it at all.

What's something you would like to feel looking back at these photos in 5, 10, 20 or even 30+ years?

The same amount of self-love I felt when I first saw these photos. My body and appearance will change the older I get but I know that this is a big step in my self-love journey and learning to love myself more. I definitely have more of an appreciation for my body and also have grown more confident from this experience.

Would you do another boudoir session in the future? And for what milestone / event or just because?

Heck yeah! Maybe an early maternity shoot, a milestone, birthday or just because.
