I’ve been going through some of my old work
that I created near the beginning of my professional wedding photography career and came across this beautiful winter elopement at the Emerald Lake Lodge. Back in 2021 I had the opportunity to work with some incredible Canadian wedding photographers while going through my photographic technology schooling at NAIT, one of them even letting me tag along and second shoot this absolutely beautiful intimate British Columbia elopement. I’ll forever be grateful for my years learning photography at NAIT and those wedding photographers who took me under their wing for a short period of time, I wouldn’t be the wedding photographer I am today without them.
This intimate winter elopement
Took place at the Emerald Lake lodge which is located in the Columbia - Shuswap area of British Columbia and is about 1.5 hours outside Banff National Park.
We kicked off this winter elopement with a meaningful first look with only the bride and groom, then we adventured around Emerald Lake for their stunning bridal portraits before heading inside the Emerald Lake Lodge for their small intimate wedding ceremony with only their closest friends and family.
But that’s not it
After doing plenty of gorgeous couples portraits around the Emerald Lake Lodge, we hoped in the car and drove up to the Natural bridge and lower falls located just outside of Field, BC.
This British Columbia photography location was absolutely incredible for this couples elopement portraits, it featured a beautiful view of some of the Canadian Rocky Mountains, turquoise blue ravine and a ragingly beautiful waterfall.
This secluded mountain wedding venue is perfect for those who want to add a little bit of adventure to their wedding day or have a more intimate mountain elopement.
