Dear 2022 Brides…

It’s finally YOUR year!

Can you freaking believe it? I hope ya’ll are ready to absolutely bring it this Edmonton wedding season! To all my 2022 brides so far, THANK YOU, I can’t wait to celebrate and create magic with all of you, and to all my future 2022 brides, GET ON YOUR WEDDING VENDOR BOOKINGS! Seriously, what are you waiting for?

You might have heard but the 2022 wedding season is supposed to be the biggest one since 1984 with a MASSIVE 2.5 million weddings going down! That’s 2.5 MILLION incredible love stories to be documented in just one year. Buckle the hell up you guys, It’s going to be a wild one.

BUT I wanted to bring you some words of wisdom from your friendly neighbourhood wedding photographer, so here’s my letter to all the 2022 brides out there:

*Slow Down*

You’ve be slaving to make this day perfect for the last, god knows how long, slow down, take a deep breath and don’t forget to take it all in because in a blink of an eye, it’ll all be over

*ITS OKAY TO SAY NO*

Don’t let the opinions of others get in the way of YOUR vision. If something someone is suggesting doesn’t resonate with you and your style, SAY NO. If the in-laws are trying to guilt you into inviting that long lost cousin you haven’t spoken to in years, IT’S OKAY TO SAY NO. This is your day and it’s okay to act like it (with kindness though, don’t forget that)

*Lean on your vendors*

Having to do every ounce of planning and coordinating for your own wedding can be exhausting. Don’t be afraid to lean on your photographer, planner or bridal assistant for some style and other planning opinions. I know sometimes family members and friends might not always have the best style or advice, so ask your professionals! To my brides: I’ll always help you decide between real or fake flowers, veil or no veil or anything other life or death decisions ;)

Signing off with a simple, Good Luck to all the couples, vendors and everyone in between diving head first into the 2022 wedding season!

xoxo - Tay
